Meeting of the Joint Management Committee of the Cooperative Education Project between USST and Queen’s College, CUNY Held On-line

A meeting of the joint management committee of the CFL English undergraduate education project jointly organized by USST and Queen’s College, CUNY, was held in USST’s smart classroom on the morning of May 31. The meeting adopts the form of online video conferencing. President Ding Xiaodong delivered a speech, Vice President Zhang Hua presided over the meeting, and President Frank H. Wu, Vice President and Acting Provost Patricia Price, Dean of the School of Arts and Humanities William McClure, Executive Director of the Office of International Exchanges Patrick O'Connell, Head of Foreign Affairs of the Project Tao Wang, CFL Dean Liu Qin, and relevant persons in charge of the International Exchange Office and CFL attended the meeting.

Ding Xiaodong spoke highly of the project in his speech, encouraging both sides to continue to explore innovative education and teaching models, and constantly improve the quality of education to meet the expectations of students and society. He said that USSTwill continue to adhere to the principle of 'win-win cooperation', fully supports and expands the cooperation projects between the two universities, and jointly promotes the continuous development of the cooperative relationship between the two sides. When hosting, Zhang Hua fully affirmed the significance of the cooperation between the two universities, emphasizing the importance of the project in meeting students' academic needs and improving the quality of education. By actively exploring new educational and teaching models, students can obtain more comprehensive and high-quality educational resources, improve employment competitiveness, and develop lifelong learning ability.

Frank H. Wu reviewed the history of cooperation between the two universities and stressed that Queen's College attaches great importance to the cooperation with USST. He pointed out that the long-term close cooperation between the two sides has made outstanding achievements, which is of great significance not only to the education of the two universities, but also to promote cultural exchanges and talent flow between the two countries. As the new deputy director of the Joint Management Committee, Patricia Price is proud of the extraordinary achievements of the students of the project. She said that the cooperation project with USST is an important pillar of the international cooperation strategy of Queen's College. She hopes to further explore new areas of cooperation with USST on the basis of fruitful results in the cooperation between the two universities.

The participants exchanged views on the future development of the cooperation project and student training, focusing on the detailed discussion on the project's application for a new round of five-year extension this year, and unanimously agreed to sign the relevant resolutions. The meeting also heard Liu Qin's report on the annual operation and the preparation of the license extension of the project and Tao Wang's report on the annual teacher dispatch.

After the meeting, both sides said that they would continue to work hard to promote the smooth development of the cooperative school project. The two sides look forward to meeting as soon as possible and further detailed negotiations to deepen and strengthen cooperation and expand areas of cooperation. It is believed that through joint efforts, the cooperation project between the two universities will achieve greater success.
