Delegation from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia Visited USST
On January 7, Mr. Abdullah bin Mohd Nawi, Head of Global Affairs and Cooperation at the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM), led a delegation on an official visit to USST. Geng Xiuli, Deputy Director of the Office of International Exchange, and Liu Qin, Dean of the College of Foreign Languages, received the guests. Relevant officials from the College of Foreign Languages attended the discussion session, which was presided over by Liu Qin.
Geng Xiuli extended a warm welcome to the UTM delegation and briefly introduced USST’s history, disciplinary structure, and achievements in international development. She noted that the College of Foreign Languages at USST has accumulated rich experience in such fields as language teaching and cross cultural communication. CFL’s disciplinary scope is highly aligned with that of the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities at UTM. She expressed the hope that this exchange would serve as an opportunity to deepen bilateral cooperation in faculty student exchanges, academic research, and joint curriculum development.
Dr. Abdullah expressed his gratitude for the warm reception extended by USST and presented an overview of the educational features, faculty composition, and international cooperation frameworkat UTM. He remarked that UTM attached great importance to academic exchanges with USST and hoped that both sides could carry out practice oriented cooperation in such areas as language education and cross cultural studies.
During the meeting, both sides had in depth exchanges on such topics as faculty student exchange programmes and the organization of academic seminars, and reached multiple consensuses on cooperation.
Prior to the meeting, the delegation visited the University History Museum and toured the campus. Following the meeting, Dr. Abdullah was invited to deliver an academic lecture at CFL.
This exchange has laid a solid foundation for multi level and broad ranging cooperation between the two universities and will help continuously elevate USST’s international education capabilities.
