On November 10, the national final and awarding ceremony of the 6th Micro-course Contest of Foreign Language in China and Micro-course Design and Application Seminar was held in the Changsha International Convention and Exhibition Center. The teachers from the College of Foreign Languages (CFL) won 2 second prizes and 1 third prize in this national competition. Among them, in the Japanese-Russian-German-French Group, the team led by Yan Peiqi won the second prize (first in the German group), the team led by Mao Wei won the second prize, and the team led by Zhang Kui won the third prize. In addition, the teams led by Zhou Qingyan and Miaopeng respectively won the third prize in the Shanghai Undergraduate English Group. Our teachers have reached an historical record in this contest.
This competition was hosted by the China Association of Higher Education, undertaken by the Higher Education Press and co-organized by the Teaching Steering Committee of Foreign Language of High Education Institutions, Ministry of Education. So far, it has been successfully held six times, and it is a large-scale competition for foreign language teachers in colleges and universities and vocational colleges across the country, which aims to actively develop "Internet +" education, promote the reform of learning methods and improve learning efficiency, and strive to advance the construction of new liberal arts. Also, it continues to deepen the reform of foreign language teaching, explore new concepts and models of foreign language classroom teaching, and improve the quality and level of foreign language teaching in an all-round way.
The excellent performance of the teachers in the final benefited from the teaching ability development supported by the undergraduate college, the Teacher Development Center and the CFL. Our teachers will take this micro-course teaching competition as an opportunity to advance the construction of information-based courses and the reform of online and offline mixed teaching. They will take advantage of the leading, demonstrating and radiating function of various excellent works in the micro-course teaching competitions, and constantly improve their teaching ability to achieve deep integration between information technology and classroom teaching.
