NECCS (National English Competition for College Students) Final in 2021 ended recently. Undergraduates of our university did very well in this competition. Chen Chuyun of the College of Basic Science won the national Special Prize. Six other students such as Zhou Hongyang from the College of Foreign Languages, and Ding Yang of the College of Communication and Art Design won the national first prize, 37 students won the national second prizes, and 62 other students won the national third prizes. Undergraduates of our university have won the special prize for several years in a row, and they still achieved remarkable results this time, presenting a great gift to the 100th anniversary of the founding of the CPC and the 115th anniversary of the founding of our university.
NECCS is the only college English comprehensive ability competition approved by the Ministry of Education. The College of Foreign Languages actively deepen the reform of college English teaching, constantly inspire students’ activity of learning English and push forward English teaching quality onto a new stage. The College of Foreign Languages has set up “NECCS Steering Group” and pre-competition training camp. Zhou Qingyan and Liu Qiufen of the Steering group carry out real competition exercises aiming at written test and oral test, training and guiding competitors with many kinds of kills through building up learning workshops, online and offline. They also carry out special training in students’ literacy and oracy. The results attained in this competition are the strong reflection of the college English teaching’s reform, implementation of the spirit of the National Education Congress and helping cultivate first-class international talents in our university.
