On the morning of June 23rd, 2022, the leaders of the College of Foreign Languages(CFL) went to the SFSC International Training Center upon invitation to participate in the renewal ceremony of the "Comprehensive Strategic Partnership Letter of Intent." Several prominent people of both parties attended the ceremony, such as Liu Qin, Dean of CFL; Qu Deqiang, Party Secretary of CFL; Han Geling, Deputy Dean of CFL; Zhang Le, Deputy Dean of CFL; and Jin Xiaodong, Deputy Party Secretary of CFL; Director Chen Yangling, Deputy Director Huang Bingyuan, Assistant Director Yu Liwen, Manager Wang Jia of the Translation Center and Shi Yao, Assistant Manager of the Translation Center from the SFSC International Training Center.
First of all, the two sides introduced each other about the personnel who attended the meeting. Huang Bingyuan then introduced the history and current situation of the SFSC International Training Center, elaborated on the company's development philosophy, business scope and resource advantages in terms of purposes, vision, mission and values, and reviewed the good cooperation with CFL.
After that, Liu Qin introduced the situation of CFL from the aspects of historical evolution, professional structure, faculty, student scale and talent training achievements. Taking the opportunity of our English major being approved as a national first-class major and obtaining QS Stars five-star certification, and the German major being approved as a first-class major in Shanghai, Dean Liu Qin expressed her desire to deepen the content of cooperation between the two sides, expand international exchanges, participate in global services, and carry out public diplomacy training programs.
In the end, Liu Qin and Chen Yangling jointly signed the "Comprehensive Strategic Partnership Letter of Intent". The two parties have promised to take cooperation and openness, integration of advantages, and joint innovation as the basic principles of cooperation, and carry out in-depth and all-round cooperation in teaching, training, faculty, innovation, industry-university-research, and translation practice bases. Qu Deqiang expresses his hope that the two parties can have more, deeper and better exchanges and cooperation in all aspects in the future by taking this signing as an opportunity. Chen Yangling suggests that the two sides can consolidate a win-win and prolific partnership, communicate with each other and share resources.
CFL has cooperated with the SFSC International Training Center for many years, and has laid a good foundation for cooperation in the training of translation talents, the co-construction of practice bases, and the development of translation teaching materials. On December 9th, 2016, CFL and the SFSC International Training Center signed the "Comprehensive Strategic Partnership Letter of Intent" for the first time, and held the unveiling ceremony of the "Industry-University-Research Talent Base" in January 2017. CFL actively adjusts the training plan, and selects batches of teachers and students to the SFSC International Training Center to carry out industry-university-research cooperation projects and translation practice, and cultivate a batch of double-qualified teachers and inter-disciplinary foreign language talents.
