At 3:00 PM on February 24,2022, CFL’s Japanese teacher Guo Liwas invited by the Nagasaki Prefecture’s International Section to participate in the Prefecture’s Second Online International Business Interview, and was interviewed by 15 students from Nagasaki East Higher School.
The event, hosted by the Nagasaki Prefecture’s International Section, aims to cultivate more international young talents through online interviews and other exchanges under the COVID-19 context, so as to promote better understanding, exchanges and cooperation between Nagasaki Prefecture and overseas sister cities in the future. The Japanese participants are mainly Chinese learners in schools within the Nagasaki Prefecture. The invited Chinese participants are generally those who have been active on the front line of China-Japan friendship.
This year’s event is the second session. Two Chinese interviewees are invited, one of whom is a staff member of the Shanghai Municipal People's Foreign Affairs Office, and the other is Ms. Guo Li, a Japanese teacher of CFL. Although the students participating in this activity had different Chinese skills, they were all very interested in Chinese culture and Sino-Japanese exchanges, and raised many related questions. In view of these questions, Ms. Guo Li answered them in detail in both Chinese and Japanese languages. Because both sides were well prepared, the whole process was not only very smooth, but also full of laughter. At the end of the activity, the students all said that after the epidemic is over, they must come to Shanghai and China to have a good look.
From April 2015 to April 2016, Ms.Guo Li served as an international exchange member in Nagasaki Prefecture’s International Section. During her tenure and after returning to China, with the care and strong support of leaders at all levels, she has for many times participated in or organized international exchange activities between Chinese and Japanese teenagers, especially repeatedly led students to participate in international exchange activities with Nagasaki Prefecture. It not only broadens the students' international vision, but also improves the quality of USST’s international talent training.
This year marks the 50th anniversary of the normalization of China-Japan state relations. The invitation and participation of Ms. Guo Li in this interview would effectively promote the non-governmental diplomacy between China and Japan, and enhance the international reputation and influence of USST.
