In order to thoroughly study and implement Xi Jinping's Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era and fully implement the spirit of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, on the occasion of the investigation and research of the whole party, Professor Liu Qin, Dean of CFL, visited the Global Tone Communication Co., Ltd (Shanghai) on the morning of May 11for investigation, accompanied by Zhang Le, Vice Dean of CFL, Jiang Cheng, Head of the English (Technology Translation) Department, Liu Man, Head of the Japanese Department, Jia Xiaoyun, Deputy Head of the English (Sino-US Cooperation) Department, Cao Yun, Deputy Head of the German Department, Yang Benming, Deputy Director of the MTI Education Center, and Zheng Yuanfeng, Director of the Party and Administration Office. Liu Siwen, deputy general manager of GTCOM, Tang Man, project director, Zhang Wenlu, account manager, Tang Jie, manager of the translation department, and Liu Tongyu, director of the operation department, participated in the exchange.
Liu Siwen welcomed the research team of CFL on behalf of GTCOM, and introduced the company's development history, market layout, language technology, and translation services and achievements. Liu Qin introduced in detail CFL’s historical evolution, professional structure, faculty, scientific research, teaching and research achievements, innovation and entrepreneurship education and MTI talent training. Tangman demonstrated the latest translation technology products developed by the company, such as intelligent language boxes and multi-modal translation systems.
Subsequently, the two sides had a heated discussion on the possible directions in school-enterprise cooperation, industry-university cooperation and education, teacher industry experience and student internship practice. Liu Qin pointed out that scientific and technological translation is the characteristic of CFL, which is in line with GTCOM’s language science and technology service dimension,hence, the two sides can carry out long-term cooperation in many aspects. Shealso recommended the establishement of an all-round cooperation mechanism. Liu Siwen also said that the two sides have room for further cooperation in school-enterprise cooperation, project translation, student internship and employment. The two sides have initially reached an intention to cooperate, looking forward to broadening the channels of cooperation and further realizing a good situation of mutual benefit and win-win results.
Before the symposium, the research team also visited the company's development process and demonstrations on big data, artificial intelligence, language technology ecology, etc. in the exhibition hall on the first floor of GTCOM.
