To celebrate the 113thInternational March 8thWomen's Day, a handwork gathering was held in Room 102 of the CFL Building on March 7, 2023. CFL labor union chairman Gao Wencheng, and Guo Xia, a member of the Women's Working Committee, planned and contacted in advance to purchase production materials for the 'Mosaic Creative Desk Lamp Production' DIY activity. More than 30 female teachers in our college participated in this activity and fully experienced the fun of DIY production.
Before the official start of the production activity, Guo Xiaexplained the craftsmanship, materials and production process of mosaic table lamps. Subsequently, the skillful female teachers first designed their mosaic lampshade, or imitated the shape of the picture, or gave full play to their imagination to put on the shape they wanted; then pasted the mosaic to the glass lampshade in turn with glue; waited until the glue dried, they applied the supplementary filler, polished it with a brush and sponge, and placed the made lampshade on the lamp holder. After installing the LED lamp, the gorgeous work was completed.
Mosaics mean 'artistic work that is worthy of meditation and patience' in ancient Greek. Making exquisite mosaic works requires not only skills but also enough patience. The female teachers gave full play to their unique handicraft skill, their love and patience in the making ofthe exquisite, unique and loving mosaic table lamps. Celebration of March 8thWomen's Day with handwork activity is a special labor union tradition in CFL. Different items are made every year, which is deeply loved by female teachers. CFL labor union will continue to carry out similar handmade activities to achieve the effect of unity, harmony and cohesion among faculty members.
