The 38th Annual Meeting and Academic Seminar of the Foreign Language Professional Committee of the Shanghai Education and Technology Association was successfully held on March 4, 2023. More than 60 leaders, experts, scholars, teachers' representatives and representatives of foreign language education technology manufacturers from more than 30 institutions, including Fudan University, Shanghai Jiaotong University, Shanghai Foreign Studies University, Tongji University and East China Normal University, gathered in the hall of the Science and Technology Innovation Park of Shanghai University of Finance. The award-winning teachers of CFL were also invited to participate in this conference.

In the beginning, Yi Yongzheng, deputy general manager of Zuoqi Technology, on behalf of the conference manufacturer, addressed the conference. With the main purpose of welcoming emerging technologies, Mr. Yi's speech emphasized that China has embarked on a new journey of building a modern socialist country in an all-round way under the leadership of the Party Central Committee. Emerging technologies have provided more ideas and directions for foreign language disciplines in terms of talent training, knowledge supply, academic innovation and international integration. Education in the new era will certainly characterized by the combination of foreign languages and emerging technologies.
Subsequently, Professor Chen Jianlin, President of the Foreign Language Professional Committee of the Shanghai Education and Technology Association, made a report on the work of the Foreign Language Professional Committee of the Shanghai Education and Technology Association in 2022. The report reviews the main work of the Association in 2022, points out that under the guidance of the Party's education policy, the association publicizes and promotes foreign language education and teaching experience, strengthens school-enterprise cooperation, carries out a number of academic research work, and holds excellent papers and courseware selection activities. President Chen also reported on the Association's work in industry joint project incubation, education project incubation, and anti-epidemic work in 2022. With the theme of "Learning the Spirits of the 20th CPC National Congress and Striving for a New Journey", the annual meeting proposed that in 2023, the Association will continue to develop and progress with the theme of "promoting industry-university-research cooperation, the upgrading of foreign language education technology in Shanghai universities, and the application of emerging technologies in foreign language education", serve the country's strategic needs, constantly strengthen discipline construction, and make positive contributions to the creation of first-class discipline construction and talent training in colleges and universities with the spirit of collaborative innovation of "industry, study and research".

Three teachers of CFL won the award in this year’s annual excellent papers evaluation of the Association. Among them, Ms. Leng Bingbing and Ms. Liu Huangmei won the "second prize" for excellent papers, and Ms. Zhang Shiqian won the "third prize" for excellent papers. CFL is the governing unit of the Foreign Language Professional Committee of the Shanghai Education and Technology Association and undertakes important work of the Association. Since CFL participated in the work of the Association, more than a dozen teachers have won various awards, which is not only the result of these teachers' personal efforts, but also the embodiment of the great importance that CFL leaders attached to the personal growth of teachers in recent years. These efforts provide strong support for the construction of teachers and industry-study collaborative education in CFL’s "14thFive-Year Plan".
