An Overview of German-speakingCountries is a special professional course for the key construction of German majors. The teaching team led by Professor Chen Qi closely combines teaching, scientific research and project practice. Under the guidance of the concept of 'international vision, Chinese perspective, speculative ability and project-oriented practice', it adopts diversified teaching organization forms and assessment methods to train students to base themselves in China and understand the politics, society, cultural and economic developmentof German-speaking countries, and expand their international vision, form cross-cultural communication ability and national situation research and judgment ability, promote Sino-German civilization mutual learning, and build Chinese cultural self-confidence. The teaching team has won many awards in national teaching competitions such as the 'Teaching Star'. Students have repeatedly won good results in national subject competitions such as the 'Teacher's Club Cup' German micro-video competition, and have published a number of academic papers under the guidance of teachers. An Overview of the German-speaking Countries was successively approved by the second batch of core course construction projects of USST in 2013. In 2017, it was approved by the key construction courses of the Shanghai Municipal Education Commission and successfully passed the acceptance in 2019. The final level was 'excellent'. In 2021, it was recognized as a first-class undergraduate course in Shanghai. The recognition as a national first-class undergraduate course is the best embodiment of the unremitting efforts of the teaching team under the strong support of the university over the years.
