On September 26th, Mr. Ma Chong, general manager of Wuxi Jinqiao Education Group and a graduate of the first International joint Program in Finance and Investment Discipline of the College of Foreign Languages (CFL), USST, was invited to deliver a lecture for our faculty and students. The lecture was presided over by Mr. Jin Xiaodong, Deputy Secretary of the College Party Committee.
The theme of the lecture was “Successfully Crafting Yourself in 2027”, attended by the freshmen and faculty members in our college. Mr. Ma began his lecture by sharing his own life experience, hoping to provide a guide for the students on how to make the most of their time and enrich their four years on campus. Mr. Ma Chong alerted the students that the current society is constantly changing, and only by continuous self-improvement can we establish a better foothold in society. Then, he shared what he believed ten significant abilities that college students should possess. He not only encouraged students to enhance their physical fitness but also emphasized the importance of stress resistance and foreign language proficiency. He hoped that students should always have a sincere and grateful heart throughout their life. Such attitude may remove the obstacles to success. Finally, Mr. Ma Chong patiently answered the questions raised by the students and shared his valuable experience with them. This lecture combines “tactics” and “strategies” together, dispelling the fog in the minds of students and giving them a deeper understanding of how to live a good university life, to exceed the self-imposed limits , and to create a brilliant life.
Deputy Secretary Jin Xiaodong delivered the conclusive remarks. On behalf of the college, he expressed his gratitude to Mr. Ma for the wonderful lecture, and he was looking forward to his return to alma mater to meet with the teachers and students again. Mr. Jin Xiaodong hoped that the faculty and students of CFL could take this lecture as an opportunity to continuously improve their abilities, enrich their academic life and create a remarkable life.
