On the morning of June 19, Faculty members from the School of Foreign
Languages and the English and Translation Departments from Xidian Univeristy (XUD) visited our college for academic exchange.
The members of The visiting team from XDU's School of Foreign Languages are Professor Wang Junping, Director of the Belt and Road Communication Information Technology Discourse Research Center, Professor Dai Yuxia, Head of the Orientation Course Curriculum Group, Associate Professor Zou Tiantian, Director of the International Cooperation and Exchange Center, and Associate Professor Zhu Linfei, along with other faculty members.
Present at the academic exchange are Director Jiang Cheng from Teaching and Research section (Translation of Enlish in Science and Technology), Professor Zhang Shunsheng, Professor Wu Biyu, Associate Professor Leng Bingbing, and Dr. Kong Xiangli.
Given the commonalities between the two schools in the field of English for Science and Technology, Director Jiang first introduced to the guests the curriculum modules, student innovation and entrepreneurship projects, the graduate employment situation, and faculty development.
Director Jiang also provided detailed answers to the questions raised by the XDU visiting teacherson such topics as 'challenges in the application and implementation of student innovation and entrepreneurship project ' and 'challenges in curriculum design.'
The visiting XDU professors also shared their valuable experiences in developing online resources for English for Science and Technology courses and in the field of disciplinedevelopment.
At the end of the meeting, Director Jiang introduced our M.A program in Translation to the guests, expressing the hope that talented students from XDU's School of Foreign Languages would consider pursuing graduate studies at our college.
The visit and exchange have played a positive role in promoting the educational philosophy of the College of Foreign Languages at University of Shanghai for Science and Technology, improving the curriculum design, strengthening student innovation and entrepreneurship projects, and advancing our National First-Class Undergraduate Major Construction efforts.
