On June 10, the commencement ceremony for the Class of 2026 English major undergraduates (Sino-US JointCooperative Program)was grandly held in the lecture hall of the CFLschool.Cai YonglianPresent at the ceremony were, Cai Yonglian, Vice President of University of Shanghai for Science and Technology (USST); Professor Tao Wang, US Program Director from Queens College, City University of New York (CUNY); theparty and administrative leaders of CFLthe College of Foreign Languages, department heads, faculty representatives, all graduates of the English (Sino-US CJointooperative Program, and their parents representatives attended the ceremony. The event was presided over by Liu Qin, Dean of CFLthe College of Foreign Languages.



Session One

Chapter 1: Four Years of Growth, Shared Memories on Campusof Youth

The ceremony kicked off with the  the majestic national anthem. Dean Liu Qin introduced the distinguished guests present and extended warm congratulations to all the graduates who had successfully completed their studies. She affectionately walked the graduates throughreviewed their fouryears on campusgrowth journey of the students and pointed out that this year witnessedmarks the 120th anniversary of the founding of USSTthe University of Shanghai for Science and Technology, as well as the 30th anniversary of the founding of the Sino-US Jointcooperative Pprogram. The graduates of 2026this class are the lucky onesoutstanding representatives who have reaped the fruits of their academic efforts in thisis year of special significance.

SessionChapter Two: Learning Endures, Mentorship LeadsUnceasing Learning, Guided by Teachers’ Grace

Vice President Cai Yonglian delivered a speech. She expressed her heartfelt gratitude to the Chinese and American faculty members teachers from both China and the United States who have devotedgreatdiligent efforts to the Jointcooperative Pprogram, and extended her sincere congratulations to all graduating studentses. Centering on the three keywords of "connection, innovation and resilience,”" she encouraged the students to take language and professional expertise as a bridge,

She encouraged the students to use language and professionalism as a bridge, cultivating in the era of globalization,e the abilities of deepin-depth understanding, mutual respect, empathy and win-win cooperation. She urged them to  in the era of globalization, maintain a problem-solving mindsetawareness in emerging fields such as fintech, artificial intelligence and green trade, and to transform cutting-edge technologies into practical solutions with an engineering spirit.apply the engineer’s spirit to translate cutting-edge technologies into practical solutions. She also urged them to internalize the university motto of "Integrity, Righteousness, Diligence, Love, Pondering, Learning, Aspiration, AmbitionFaith, Justice, Diligence, Love, Reflection, Learning, Ambition and Far-sightedness" as a lifelong commitment to learning, and tolearning character, and embrace the challenges and opportunities of the new chapter in their lives with resilience and fortitude.stage of life with a resilient attitude



Professor Tao Wang, JointUS Program Director of the program, conveyed his sincere blessings on behalf of Queens College. Centering on the four keywords of “Dream, Belief, Action, and Fortitude,” heHe encouraged the graduates to bravely try new things, learn from mistakes, and move firmly toward success., centering on the four keywords of "dream, belief, Plan of Action, and Fear No Failure ".

Session ThreeChapter 3: Stars Ablaze — We Set Our Courses Anew A Million Stars Aglow, Against the Wind We Go

The ceremony conferred prestigious awards upon graduates who had demonstrated outstanding performance during their academic studiesThe outstanding graduates who performed excellently during their studies was solemnly recognized on the ceremony, highlighting the fruitful educational achievements of the Joint  cooperative education Pprogram. Dean Liu Qin, Dean of the School, announced the list of 2026 Shanghai Outstanding Graduates; Associate Dean Zhang Le, Vice Dean of the School, read out the list of 2026 University Outstanding Graduates; Associate Dean Yang Benming unveiled the , Vice Dean of the School, announced the list of recipients of the 2026 Outstanding Graduate Scholarship for the Joint Cooperative Education Program; Shen Lianlian, Deputy Secretary of the CFLSchool Party Committee, announced the list of recipients of the 2026 Siyuan Alumni Scholarship.

Hoist the Sail, Chase the Dream —USST Our Eternal Theme

At the pinnacle of the ceremony — the degree conferral — each graduate stepped forward to receive their certificate while leaders and honored guests on the podium turned their tassels from right to left, one by one. This solemn gesture marked the official completion of their undergraduate studies and the dawn of a new journey beyond the campus gates.

On behalf of the graduating class,G studentraduate representatives presented bouquets offlowers to the Chinese and American faculty members teachers from both China and the United States who had diligently nurtured them with dedication, expressing their heartfelt appreciation.

On behalf of all faculty members, Ms. Yuan Yuan as the faculty representative, encouraged the graduates to be pure and resilient individuals by sharing stories of literary classics and previous alumni. She urged them to believe firmly in their own choices and forge a unique and remarkable life path.

Yang Yifei, the graduate representative, delivered a speech in which she affectionately reviewed herthe struggles, confusions, and gains during her four years on campus, and expressed her heartfeltendless gratitude to her alma mater, teachers, classmates , and family. On behalf of all graduates, she solemnly promised that no matter where they would be in the future, they would keep the university motto in mind, integrate personal ideals into national development, and serve the society with their professional knowledge. She also emphasized that they would always care about their alma mater and . continue to give back to the school by building alumni bridges, sharing industry resources and other resourcesmeans, and contributing to the long-term development of the alma mater.

At the end of the ceremony,Dean Liu Qin addressed all the graduates with a heartfelt message: Today, you take pride in the college; tomorrow, the college will be proud of you! Graduation is not a farewell, but a continuation of our journey together as alumni. Dean Liu Qin sent a message to all graduates: " Today You Rise with College Pride, Tomorrow It Shines with You BesideNot Goodbye, but a New Chapter's Tide."
